The Wisdom of Children
I got to work a little tired today. One little girl arrived to her Spanish class a little early, and while her teacher was still setting up, I went in to sit with her. Just making conversation with this little 3 year-old, I told her I was tired today. I asked her if she was tired this morning too, and she nodded. Then I said, well, Maya, what do you think we should do to wake ourselves up? Should we stand on our heads? No. Should we jump up and down? No. Should we drink some coffee, I asked, now seriously pondering what I could do. No, ew. Well, what do you think we should do? Sleep, she said, as though it was obvious. And I guess it is. Why didn't I think of that?

We always pass the obvious explanations.
