Elinore turns 1!

Elinore turned one on Saturday, and we all went over to Michigan to help celebrate. Jen made an awesome cow cake in honor of Elinore's favorite animal sound. She sat down to a piece of cake after opening all her presents, and spent a full 3 minutes staring at it, trying to decide whether to give it a go. Finally she dug in, and ended up liking it.

Its hard to imagine that a year ago we were all sitting around marvelling at the tiny baby we were meeting for the first time. Elinore loves to give hugs and kisses. Her kisses however involve leaning in toward an object with her mouth wide open, and a hug means putting something up to her ear. Surely, she'll get it all straightened out someday!
