This weekend we celebrated Sam's 3rd Birthday and Lydia's 1st Birthday in a joint party. Since Lydia is almost always so happy and smiley, Amy made a yellow smiley face cake which was a big hit. Both kids seemed to have a great time! Sam had a hard time being patient, waiting to open his presents, and who can blame him? He got all kinds of things from a little radio that only gets reception for two kid stations, to a couple 3+ board games, to an 18 wheeler car carrier. Lydia seemed most happy with the cards on her gifts, especially the one that we gave her with a picture of a baby on the front. She has this special affection for babies right now. Her doll's name is baby, and she walks around saying "baby" all the time - giving herself kisses in the mirror! We had such a fun time, and we're so glad to be a part of their lives, watching them grow.
